The Good, the Bad and Beyond for Mars Venus Relationships...
The Good - Oxytocin, Estrogen and Testosterone - The Honeymoon Phase
When we fall in love, we are filled with exhilarating chemicals and hormones - like oxytocin, estrogen and testosterone. These good chemicals and hormones send messages at a cellular level affecting the growth, development, energy and mood of our minds and bodies. It rushes through us causing our stress levels to drop significantly - giving us a euphoric feeling.
We've all heard about "The Honeymoon Phase" of many relationships. Well, if you are lucky, this feeling of love, compatibility, sexual attraction and general bliss can last up to three years.
While in the honeymoon phase, the stressors of everyday life just seem to fade into the woodwork. Everything about your mate is endearing and adorable. You both love to do everything with each other and often for each other. The more you give, the higher the feel-good hormones climb. It seems like an endless win-win situation.
Until, like all things, reality sets in. In little ways at first. Such as forgetting to walk the dog when she got home - causing an accident. It's not a huge deal, but suddenly the euphoric hormones of yesterday have started to diminish just a little. You feel just a touch stressed out at the urine stain on your new Berber carpet. You convince yourself that it is nothing; but it is too late, the first stage of the bad has just peed on your carpet. Because of one forgotten chore, the freebie honeymoon stage is entering the beginning of the end.Just realizing this starts to lower your feel-good hormone levels and raise your stress ones.
The Bad: Adrenaline and Cortisol - Fight or Flight
According to Dr. John Gray in "Why Mars and Venus Collide", the production of adrenaline (aka epinephrine) and cortisol, hormones secreted by the adrenal gland, is how our bodies respond to outside stress. Our prehistoric ancestors used these hormones as a temporary burst of energy and mental clarity when they were in mortal danger and had to make the choice of "fight or flight". This burst of hormones redirects secondary functions like digestion to your muscles and brain so you can protect yourself.
This hormonal survival mechanism is fantastic in life-or-death situations. But, our bodies were not intended to withstand a continual outpouring of these hormones without damage. As a result, our immune systems can become compromised making us more susceptible to disease and illness. Also, our digestive system is another affected secondary system that can result in loss of energy, malnutrition and low metabolism leading to weight gain.
Other side effects of the continual onslaught of these hormones are:
- Anxiety
- Mild Depression con
- Unstable blood sugar levels can affect mood
- Loss of energy affects how much we are able to give and do
- Irritability can ruin affection, gratitude and tenderness
- Loss of Interest for men
- Feeling overwhelmed for women
- A nagging feeling of urgency reduces our ability to be patient and flexible
Each of these side effects can chip away at your relationship. Oftentimes, destroying yet another love affair. In Dr. John Gray's bestseller "Why Mars and Venus Collide" he offers a relationship life-line.
Women: Tend and Befriend stimulates Oxytocin production - Aka the cuddle hormone
TEND and BEFRIEND is an evolutionary response to stress. For survival, countless generations of women have been practicing the tend-and-befriend response. It involves taking care of (or tending) to the young and befriending other women to ensure their mutual survival. This bonding is an excellent survival mechanism for women and children.
Oxytocin - the cuddle hormone
For women, replenishing their oxytocin supply is essential in boosting their life, laughter, libido and love affairs. Here are 10 ways to stimulate more oxytocin production:
1. Communicating
2. Feeling Safe
3. Cleanliness
4. Teamwork
5. Compliments
6. Caring
7. Affection
8. Collaboration
9. Beauty
10. Creativity
Men: Achieving, Appreciation and Success helps build and balance Testosterone levels
Testosterone - King of the hormones
For men, testosterone is essential in everything from dominance, emotional and physical strength to body shape, odor, hairiness and sexual performance. It also greatly affects the male mindset - intellect, creativity, drive and assertiveness. And is a great determiner of lifetime general health.
Did you know that adult males produce 20 to 30 times more testosterone than women do? The trick to dealing with stress is having the right T-level - not too high or too low. Chronic stress can lower a man's T-level so that he develops Irritable Male Syndrome (IMS). Some of the symptoms of this syndrome is withdrawal, depression and irritability. Did you know that In the last 25 years, T-levels have fallen significantly in American men.
Is Achieving goals, Feeling Appreciated and being Successful the answer to low a T-count?
Researchers have found that feelings of success have been linked to normal T-levels. When a man feels successful, it is reflected in his relationship. His partner trusts him, feels fulfilled and accepted. Because of this, he feels appreciated. This sense of achievement offsets the stress effect by stimulating healthy levels of testosterone.
Finally, couples who work on how to lovingly communicate with one another using some of the techniques found on Dr. John Gray's website www.marsvenusrelationship.com have a much greater chance of turning the "Honeymoon Phase" into a bonafide "Happily Ever After".
The end.

Do you ever wonder just what he/she is really thinking?
Are you thinking about dating? Could you use some useful pointers to help you navigate through common mistakes, misconceptions and miscommunication? Isn't it time you reaped the benefits of a successful romance?
Welcome to “Mars and Venus on a date” – Your exclusive guide to dating using the Mars Venus Coaching technique. In this series, you will learn the 5 stages of dating - Attraction, Uncertainty, Exclusivity, Intimacy and Engagement. Find out what men and women are really thinking. Invest in a little knowledge now - before you start dating.
Stage One: Attraction
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the definition of attraction is: A feeling that makes someone romantically or sexually interested in another person.
The most important part of the Attraction Stage is that it’s supposed to be fun. Remember it’s the jumping off point; certainly not the destination. It’s about romance and joy - not intimacy or commitment. This is the stage in which men and women get to “try on” potential mates by flirting and dating. They have this opportunity to cultivate interests in a variety of partners. We'll show you how to become skillful in presenting ourselves in ways that are both appealing and supportive to the other person. In order to sustain attraction, we must express our best and most positive self. Here's how.
What SHE wants ...
It is simple, if you want to be more attractive to a woman, then you need to make her feel special. It’s amazing how powerful this action can be. Do small things for her like give her your full attention, open a door for her or give her a thoughtful, truthful compliment. Ask her good questions. And take a risk. Radiate confidence by asking her out. Get to know the woman without any expectations; and you will start to win her over.
The single biggest reason we fail at dating is that we do not understand the opposite sex. Small insights into the differences between men and women can make a world of difference at this stage.

The Venetian celebrates 15 years of global cuisine
In honor of its Renaissance theme, the Venetian proudly offers a cultural smorgasbord for your dining pleasure. Highly-trained teams of experts share their mastery of cuisine, fine wines, desserts and more to achieve an authentic culinary experience. Located at 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. S., the Venetian is celebrating its 15th anniversary this month. Famous for its varied selection of global cuisine, it currently boasts 40 restaurants. Sixteen of them are fine-dining signature eateries run by such celebrity chefs as Wolfgang Puck, Mario Batali and Emeril Lagasse. Below is a taste of what to expect at the Venetian.
Wolfgang Puck's Postrio Bar & Grill features contemporary California fare. The menu of seasonal, modern American cuisine is best enjoyed on the spacious patio. It gives you a front-row view of the San Marco Plaza - absolutely perfect for people watching and conversation. The menu accentuates Pucks gift for creating incomparable tastes. The swordfish is splendid as are the pasta dishes, but the gourmet burger is the real prize.
Chef Emeril Lagasse's Delmonico Steakhouse features simple table settings, a neutral color palette and softly-arched ceilings. This is all the adornment this restaurant needs because of the spicy Creole and New Orleans-influenced menu. Delmonico's isn't your typical steakhouse. It's the additional dishes on the menu that make it truly memorable.
Try the pork with cooked greens and Creole mustard reduction, New Orleans barbecued shrimp, barbecued salmon and Andouille potato hash for a sensational taste treat.
Hungry for breakfast? Try Thomas Keller’s Bouchin Bakery located near the Phantom of the Opera theater lobby. If you don't want to skimp on taste, but can do without the whole sit-down breakfast routine, Bouchin's is a favorite pit stop. Try the boudin blanc and eggs with flaky croissants-they come highly recommended. Or for a quick fix, simply pick out a collection of your favorite pastries and sticky buns to nibble on later.
One can't talk about dining experiences without mentioning the Sushi Samba. Not since the "you got chocolate in my peanut butter" mixture of yesteryear has there been such an exciting combination of tastes - Japanese, Peruvian and Brazilian. The brainchild of Executive Chef Herb Wilson, Sushi Samba offers new, exciting blends of all three cuisines. It also specializes in such popular classics as Japanese tempura, Brazilian churrasco and Peruvian anticuchos.
One would be remiss not to mention the Venetian's other 24 eateries. Fancy is fine, but sometimes a good old-fashioned hamburger with fries and a coke, or a plate of spaghetti just hits the spot. From pizza to sushi, burritos to buffets, whatever your preference, the Venetian probably has it. Take a fast food trip around the world in its multi-cultural Food Court. Specially designed for on-the-go, budget-minded patrons.
In one of the most fiercely competitive, service-oriented cities in the world, the Venetian has consistently proven to have the best award-winning restaurants available. With 15 years under its belt, it continues to amaze, entertain and satisfy tourists and locals alike. Happy 15th Anniversary Venetian Hotel!

The three stages of Love are: Lust, Attraction, and Attachment. Love is a biological imperative, much like hunger or thirst. In order to ensure survival of our species, we must be mated and sated.
Lust is the initial feeling of sexual desire that triggers the goal of mating. During this stage, there is a temporary increase in such feel-good chemicals as estrogen and testosterone. This phase rarely last more than a few months at best – so enjoy them while you can.
Attraction is an interesting evolved technique to conserve time and energy in order to focus on the ultimate goal – finding love. Hard to believe but romantic attraction actually reduces the playing field. It weeds out most of the competition simply because the “hunter” is not attracted to them. This speeds the whole process up because narrowing it down makes it much easier to choose from the selected pool of attractive potential mates.
According to expert Helen Fisher, author of “Deļ¬ning the Brain Systems of Lust, Romantic Attraction, and Attachment”, recent studies show that while falling in love, the brain consistently releases an exciting cocktail of “Happy” chemicals. Well-liked substances such as Serotonin, Dopamine, Norepinephrine and Neurotransmitter hormones are the same concoction released when you are on amphetamines. As you would expect, this vigorously stimulates the brain’s pleasure center. It also explains the common “falling in love” symptoms of loss of appetite, insomnia, wildly beating heart and flushes of excitement.
The good news is that this natural chemical euphoria generally lasts between 18 months to three years.
Attachment, the third stage of love accounts for long-term relationships. It’s the bonding that seals the love. It evokes grownup feelings of responsibility, safety, security and mutual defense. It includes sharing a home, children, marriage and parental duties. It also is based on shared interests and mutual friendship.
Interestingly enough, the chemical high of the first two phases are nothing compared to the goodies that come with Attachment. It produces much higher levels of nature’s newest “wonder” compound: Oxytocin. It puts the awes … in awesome. Higher doses are found in women than men. Also, their are countless ways to produce its secretion naturally. For a look at 100 ways to stimulate Oxytocin production, go to www.marsvenus.com for an in-depth look at how it can help you in every aspect of your life.
Finally, it was been reported in Psychoneuroendocrinology (Sept.’05) that the protein molecule known as the Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) soars when people first fall in love
NFG is a superstar protein. It not only slows down or stops nerve degeneration, but also it has been shown to promote nerve regeneration and myelin repair. This is fantastic news for people suffering from such debilitating conditions as Multiple Sclerosis . The nerve regeneration may also be instrumental in treating various psychiatric disorders as dementia, depression, schizophrenia, autism, Rett Syndrome, anorexia, bulimia and Alzheimer’s disease.
NFG takes around one year to return to its normal levels. But listen to this, it’s been proven to last longer and in higher dosages the more passionate the couples are. So, here’s a life-lesson:
Be a lover, not a fighter.
Mars Venus Life Coaching Focus: Gender Intelligence and Communication
"When a man can listen to a woman's feelings without getting angry and frustrated, he gives her a wonderful gift. In return, she is better able to give a the love ... he needs.” -- John Gray, Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus
Gender Intelligence
While the world is evolving at breakneck speed - particularly in the area of technology, one thing that has not changed is the way men and women think. Technology has made it easier to reach out to someone and begin a dialogue. To seal the deal, it takes the correct communication skills and tools in your personal life.
What are we talking about? We are talking about how men and women are wired differently - meaning they each have different “hot buttons” as triggers. And having the latest technological devices isn't going to help you make the point, win an argument or persuade your partner to marry you. Learning gender intelligence from Mars Venus Life Coaching will.
Communication
Mars Venus Life Coaches is the first and only program, where life coaches are taught to coach one way for men and another for women. When the two different gender styles of communication are both given credit for their strengths and weaknesses, then the playing field is leveled. Our unique ways of relating to one another are understood, respected, and embraced. Changing the way we talk to one another, in essence, is the fundamental first step.
For example:
He believes communication should have a clear purpose. Behind every conversation is a problem that needs solving or a point that needs to be made. Communication is used to get to the root of the dilemma as efficiently as possible.
She uses communication to discover how she is feeling and what it is she wants to say. She sees conversation as an act of sharing and an opportunity to increase intimacy with her partner. Through sharing, she releases negative feelings and solidifies her bond with the man she loves.

Brain Facts to bridge the Gap between Sexes
Females are physically, psychologically and physiologically different from males. With such a gaping chasm of differences, here are some life-changing pointers to help men and women bridge that gap.
Did you know?
A woman's bridge between both sides of the brain is much larger than a man's.
This allows women to absorb a variety of information faster than men. When contemplating issues, scientific brain-mapping shows that females have activity in many regions of the brain simultaneously. This indicates that they are extremely capable of summing up numerous facts and multi-tasking answers in a shorter period of time. The oxytocin produced during these productive sessions is extremely pleasing to women and reduces stress dramatically.
Did you know?
Men tend to use only one side of their brain when poly-problem-solving. This indicates that they are better at focusing all of their attention on one issue at a time. Because of this, they prefer to prioritize. Solving the most immediate problem first. If it is unsolvable at the moment, they will shut down that thought process and move on to the next one. This ability causes the least amount of stress when decision-making.
With such a difference in the way each sex processes information, no wonder so many find it frustrating to learn the arts of hearing, listening and understanding. It's important to remember it's a physical difference. Trying to change something physical like your eye color is still impossible no matter how many times you try to change it. It's the same with your brain. The good news is that you do have the power to understand and respect these features and learn how to communicate within these guidelines.

Stuff you probably don't Know about men but should
1. Do you know why men hate to talk about problems? It overwhelms and physically stresses him out; while the exact opposite is true of females. They only use one side of the brain while ruminating on ideas. Because of this, they tackle one problem at a time. They fix it immediately if at all possible. If not, they simply move on to the next issue. Solving problems produce testosterone that gives them the natural chemical buzz to continue meeting issues one at a time.
2. Men are constantly promoting themselves. Whether they actually deserve the accolades isn't important. They love to take credit. They self-promote to their employers constantly. They subtlety sow the seeds of competency, confidence and dependability. So even if they aren't needed today for a project, the idea has been planted. Somewhere down the line when a new project arises, the employer will have to pick someone from the employee pool. And the person who has best planted his subconscious seeds tend to be the employee chosen.
3. Men are very frugal with their body language compared to women. They stay still and quiet throughout presentations, unless their is a particular point that they agree with. As discussed above, it is important to interact much more dynamically when talking to a woman.
4. In a work environment, men are like a pack of dogs fighting over a bone. It's more or less a free-for-all of ideas. Polite etiquette goes out the window. Men will throw out ideas, interrupt each other in aggressive attempts to dominate the conversation to get the ear of the person in charge. This may work well with male employers; however, not ideal for female bosses.
5. Men talk more about the solution than the problem. So if you have a male boss, it is very important to get straight to the point. Prepare. Know what you want to say and then stick to the script. For women, the surest way to persuade a man to do something is by simply asking, "Will you do this for me?" Wait for them to finish and then thank them.
6. It's paramount to understand what makes men and women feel good. It will help you immeasurably in all facets of business and pleasure. If you want to ask for a raise or promotion, do your homework and make your requests clear, direct and reasonable. In addition, always leave your boss feeling good. Even if he says no, make sure you leave it on a positive open-ended note. For instance: "What can I do to get this raise, benefit etc."
7. The chemicals produced by men and women in the same situations are dramatically different. It's a major reason for the huge communication gap between sexes. Understanding these differences can be invaluable to building, opening, repairing, and most importantly, understanding successful communication channels between men and women.

8 tips on how to talk to Women
By Kimberly Coon |
2. Use body language and affirmations throughout her conversation. When listening, nod your head when she makes a point or answer with an affirmation like: "Yes", "Right", "Okay" etc. The point is to let her know that she has your attention and you are following her conversation.
3. If you don't understand her point, politely ask her to elaborate on it. This simple tip will ensure that you really get what she is saying. It will also enforce the idea that what she says is important - which is always a good thing. Also, though there may be a learning curve at first, like with any new language, it only takes some time and practice before you become fluent.
4. Ask an earnest question when she finishes talking. A question like: "What do think we ought to do about this?" is the right combination of respect and support to encourage her to continue. Women mainly share their stress because it soothes her. She is trying to process information so she can make the best decision. It's an empowering and essential exercise to help her better navigate through life
5. When a woman is sharing her issues with a man, never interrupt her. The last thing she wants to hear is an ABC guide of how to fix it. It can come across as condescending and rude. It's hurtful because not only is he minimizing her issues, but he is also telling her to stop talking about it. Remember that her brain chemistry makes her a social, talkative person. It's a biological imperative. She needs to talk to feel better and grow. With her, it's not just the answers that are important, but also the oxytocin-flooded journey she takes to find them.
6. Use feedback to reinforce her confidence. Self-promotion is an uncomfortable endeavor. Don't make the mistake of restricting your discourse to physical beauty. Women are much more complicated than a haircut and heels. Help her develop her inner beauty. Celebrate her unique personality and character traits. Reinforce specific ideas she's had or actions she's taken that have made you proud. Nurture her confidence and she she'll be a stronger, better person for it.
7. In a male-dominated field, think like a man. In fact, asking for a raise is one of the most stressful scenarios a woman can find herself in. She prefers to be recognized by others for her accomplishments and and desires to be promoted for them. Based on the 20% salary difference between men and women, it's a sure-fire way to get ignored. If you don't ask for it, you won't get it.
8. Encourage her to speak her mind. The antiquated idea of politely waiting for the men to make a decision needs to be erased. A woman is sometimes labeled "too pushy" if you speaks her mind. But if we've learned nothing else, we know that the best ideas evolve from a bunch of unique ideas. Next time a problem comes up, encourage her to jump in and share her thoughts and opinions. Brainstorming can be very intoxicating for men and women.
